SusanWriter Many thanks to AJR for sending me the plans to Pleshey Castle, Essex. Forgive my thick skull, but I am still stumped by those parallel lines!!! My question is this: Does the thicker end of the parallel lines indicate a higher or lower elevation? I have obtained the Archaeological Report of 1960 for the castle which includes the town enclosure (Huge outer bailey) to the North. I am trying to interpret those lines to determine the relationship of the walls to the moat (if that's what I'm seeing on the plan) around the village. Also, could anyone suggest a book with an artist's rendering of Pleshey Castle around 1290? I am setting a young adult novel there.
Many thanks! SusanWriter
